Computer Software

Software :-  A Collection of program is called software.

Two type of software

1.          System software
2.         Application software 

1. System Software :-

System software is not only a program but also it is a collection of program. Without using system software we cannot start computer. So it is responsible to start the computer.system software is a software that works with the application software.

Important part of system software.

1. Operating system(O.S)
2. Utility
3. Device Driver

1.Operating system(O.S) :

Operating system is system software. It manage the computer hardware and software (C.P.U, Memory, Input & Output)and provide the meager Computer services. O.S work like as interface between user and computer. Windows O.S is the popular operating system . Linux and Unix is also O.S system.

2. Utility 

Utility provide different types of services which provided by operating system. Utility means use disk resources and delete unnecessary file and folders.by using utility we can manage the disk space.

3.Device Driver :-

Device driver is a specially software that communicate the input and output devices with computer system.

2.Application software:-

Application software is software that is specially made for users. It’s also called end user program. Like (word processor, web browser,ms-office) are the example of application software.We can use application software for different purpose like(send message, prepare document, spreadsheet,database,online shopping).

It is used for a special purpose like (graphics, audio, video, multimedia, web development, artificial intelligence)

Difference Between System Software & Application Software

it can be run without application software	Dependence	It cannot work without system software
